California band HUNNY only has one song on SoundCloud—“Cry For Me”—but the track already has over 500,000 plays, and it’s no mystery why. Without bending to fit the the electronic and pop-heavy sounds of the moment, “Cry For Me” manages to be an accessible, fun, danceable rock song, and an excellent introduction to a new act who could help make current rock music a little more exciting. We asked for a quote from the band about “Cry For Me” and the new Timothy Garrett-directed video for it, and they responded: “Yeah this shit is fucking hot, bird up.” True.
