UPDATE: Although the song used for the commercial was produced by SOPHIE and features Liz, neither SOPHIE nor PC Music had anything to do with the placement. A rep for SOPHIE/PC Music explains:
Big Spaceship, which is Samsung’s global social agency, selected the advertisement’s music, which is a song by LIZ titled “When I Rule The World.” The song will be officially released on Columbia Records in the coming weeks.
Many of the best advertisements and commercials are the ones with the catchiest songs that make us actually not mind having to sit through a commercial break. PC Music provides the music for Samsung’s fun new commercial.
PC Music is not new to using their music to sell and promote products. They’ve previously used their videos to promote their new DrinkQT energy drink. It’s hard to deny not only how well their bubbly music fits in with ads but also how much more appealing their music makes the commercial seem. For this new ad, SOPHIE and Mad Decent’s singer Liz teamed up and created a sugary sweet song to soundtrack Samsung’s commercial for their new Samsung Galaxy S6.
