Once again, Mac DeMarco steals hearts around the world with little more than his cooing lilt and a hand-draw Michael Jackson T-shirt. The video for “Another One” is a steamy, moist affair set against the ocean’s crashing waves. Mac sets the mood from the start with some professional gyrations with an MJ mask on, and proceeds to showcase the many places he can play music: the grass. The beach. The water.
This is the title track off Mac’s upcoming Another One LP, due out August 7. It’s a warmer, more subdued vibe than the first single, and the artist had some accompanying wisdom for this, the second: “Sometimes kidding around can change a heart. Be careful! A heart always wants what a heart can’t have. Find what you love and hold it close! Knock knock.”
