Empress Of Debuts Trippy Video for "Water Water"

If you’ve never been to Lake Avándaro in Valle de Bravo, Mexico before, there’s a good chance that Empress Of’s “Water Water” can transport you there and give you a glimpse of what could happen if you went on a solo retreat. The artist also known as Lorely Rodriguez did exactly that, which is how she wrote the single from her debut album, stepping away from civilization and using nature to inspire her.

The video ends up being a hydro-psychedelic experience that merges scenes in and out of each other and uses dim colors to express the emotions she was feeling at the time. As she explains it, “I wanted to make a video that made me experience the emotions I felt when I wrote the song. Mostly like drowning in that synth pad.”
