It’s been a while since we’ve heard from 2013’s Champion of Music, Lorde. The New Zealand songstress took a few months off at the beginning of 2015, “swimming and driving around and being salty,” according to her tumblr.
But the post also revealed that Lorde is back on her grind, working on new music and finding inspiration from none other than Swedish dance legend Robyn. Specifically, Lorde said Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” would be the one song she’d take with her to a desert island: “it’s happy and sad, fiery and independent but vulnerable and small, joyous even when a heart is breaking. Every line is perfect.”
She went on to describe her feelings going into this second album, saying “I feel much calmer, more comfortable in my love of doing this, and its apparent love of me, this time around. so there’s that.”
