Dave Letterman once described Foo Fighters as his favorite band, so it seemed only right that they played him out after 33 years on air. They even dressed up for the occasion, donning black tuxedos and performing Letterman’s favorite song of theirs, “Everlong.”
The performance starts at the 10:45 mark, after some emotional thank yous and self-deprecation from Letterman. He also tells the story how they fulfilled his wishes after five weeks away following heart surgery, by being the first band to play upon his return to the show.
