It’s good to hear Diplo step back a little from his EDM/power pop reign, and back into something a little grittier. Together with a motley crew of rappers (certainly 2015’s most diverse Soundcloud drop) including K-pop alum CL, RiFF RAFF, and OG Maco, he’s put together an oddly addictive (yet super stripped down) track.
You get the sense that he just threw together a bunch of clips he had laying around (though to be fair, Diplo’s spare parts probably have much more heft than more producers’ libraries)—but the casual production suits the subject matter (…soda).
RiFF RAFF’s verses are typically amusing, and Maco’s are definitely the most impressive (expect a lot of ice skating jokes on both fronts). Listen to the full track below:
