It’s always welcome when artists we like get together to play nice and make good music in the process. Recent P&P favorite demo taped takes on MisterWives‘s soaring “Our Own House,” the title song from their debut LP, with results that combine the best of both parties involved. The 17-year-old Atlantan singer/producer replaces the full band feel of the original with vocal chops and his warm electronics—indebted to 80s R&B and dance music without being imprisoned, a reminder that you can pull from the past without getting stuck in it. demo taped proves himself as able a remixer as he is a solo artist, keeping just enough of the original intact to please MisterWives fans while making the song his own.
