UK rapper Bonkaz has been keeping his big new track “We Run The Block” close to his chest, saving it for live performances and radio play, slowly and surely letting the anticipation build until live performance videos (like this) just weren’t enough.
Today we’re happy to share official audio of “We Run The Block,” and it was definitely worth the wait. The beat comes from production powerhouses The Heavytrackerz, whose recent work includes Stormzy’s “Not That Deep,” Wiley’s last album, and the wonky beat for Dizzee and Gigg’s “Nutcrackerz,” and the track is coming out on new Sony imprint Pitched Up.
Bonkaz says: “As creatives, We Run The Block. We have the freedom to create whatever we like. ‘Free up the mandem’ means grant freedom to anyone who feels restricted in their creativity. With that being said, I’ll leave you to decide who the cops are.”
