Last time we heard from the always evolving NAH, he had taken his intense blend of punk and hip-hop to the next level with NOBODY CARES WHAT HAPPENS, NO ONE’S INTERESTED. Incorporating his own vitriolic and impassioned vocals into the already chaotic mix, it showed just how much he’s progressed since the project’s inception. His latest EP, NURTURE, pushes this logical evolution into even further, cacophonous depths.
NURTURE is a violent mix of thunderous digital thuds, crashing live drums, and gruff vocals. “Sudden Separation,” with its discordant mix of twinkling synths and distorted drums ushers in this intensified sound, refusing to dull any edges on NAH’s scruffy and extreme vision. In fact, as the EP progresses its clear that the edges have been sharpened if anything, resulting in an uncompromisingly harsh listen that pleases as much as it intimidates.
