The Best New Mixes Streaming Right Now

It's impossible to listen to all the mixes out, so we collect the very best for you every two weeks. These are the best mixes streaming right now.

By Moses Wiener

Been gone for a minute, but now very much back in action. We return today with our bi-weekly tradition of bringing you a varied assemblage of awesome mixes. If you aren't familiar with the format, it's pretty simple—we collect and select ten of the best sets uploaded during the last two weeks from a sea of so-so attempts, and turn them over to you in no particular order.

If you're bored of the CD your friend burned you around New Years, your go-to iTunes playlist has been bumped one too many times, or you just need something to punctuate listening to the new Kendrick, please pay attention to the following.

There are firm favorites of ours like Kaytranada and Stwo continuing to do no wrong on mixes for the BBC and Boiler Room respectively, British exports like Bok Bok, Wookie and Kito bringing the noise, whilst Erol Alkan brought his 6Music residency to a close. Plus, more from hip hop legend Lord Finesse, the return of Bicep's Hot Tub Slamz series, and a couple more you just need to hear for yourself. These are the Best New Mixes Streaming Right Now.

2. Stwo: Ray-Ban x Boiler Room 006 Mix

Like Kaytranada, we're yet to get tired of the music stylings of another young, French-speaking producer by the name of Stwo. And so, here we are recommending you wrap your ears around the mix he put together in the lead up to Boiler Room's showcase in collaboration with Ray Bans at SXSW.

"This is a mix to chill to with a few beats I've been listening to lately", said Stwo. And perhaps unintentionally, the result is something that almost invites itself to be played as you break out your sunnies whilst strolling down 6th, wandering from venue to venue around Austin. Essential listening for anyone who didn't make it out this year.

3. Lord Finesse: Dubspot Radio Podcast

4. Kito: Views From The SW2 MiniMix

Being the shortest mix featured on this list surely stands as some kind of testament to its quality?Judge for yourself as you step south of the river with Mad Decent's Australian-born London-based signee for bass that's as unapologetic as a hen party stepping onto the 159 in search of the afterparty.

Featuring DJ Sliink, Murlo, Dubbel Dutch and music from Kito herself, this mix is bursting with energy.

5. Bicep: Hot Tub Slamz II

If there ever was a party in my hot tub, this is the kind of music I'd want to hear.

The second installment of Hot Tub Slamz from disco duo Bicep follows on from their Hot Tub Jamz mixes, and as with the other jacuzzi-themed jam marathons, it's steamy, constant bubbling action, with intermittent (but quickly disregarded) concerns about cleanliness. Dive into a pool of disco edits, hedonistic house, and soapy soul.

6. Erol Alkan: Erol Alkan's Final 6Mix

Finishing off a fantastic run on the BBC's 6Music station, Erol Alkan ended things, as ever, with a party for your ears.

"Thank you to BBC6 Music and Something Else for the opportunity to broadcast my corner of electronic and alternative music across the airwaves for the last 6 years." And for anyone that may have missed six years worth of broadcasts from Mr Alkan and are wondering what his corner of the electronic and alternative music world sounds like, there's still time! Have a listen to music from Florian Kupfer, Delroy Edwards, Legowelt, Omar S, and lots more, safe in the knowledge that it probably won't be long until we hear more from Erol and the records burning a hole in his bag.

7. Slackk, Inkke, DJ Milktray & Esqueezy: 'Don't Watch That' on NTS Radio

Recorded for broadcast on NTS, Slackk, Inkke, DJ Milktray, and Esqueezy took it to the airwaves; 'it' being a selection that starts with hip-hop and then goes into overdrive.

Don't watch the technical error around the ten minute mark, and take in the full two hours, including tracks from Jungle Brothers, 50 Cent, DJ Rashad, Jeremih, and basically a big old jumble of jams we know you're going to like.

8. Bok Bok: 'Healing' DJ Mix

Coinciding with the latest release on his Night Slugs imprint, label boss Bok Bok brings together a strong balance of beats that build up and release over the space of about sixty minutes.

Featuring productions and edits from the man himself, Bok Bok's 'Healing' mixtape also contains music from Armand Van Helden, Romanthony, as well as Night Slugs' Neana and Helix. Hold onto your hat for this one.

9. Kaytranada: BBC Residency Mix

10. Wookie: Wild Life Festival Mix

Whipping up the tempo a wee bit is genre figurehead Wookie, and the man known best for cultivating garage shows once again that Wookie is no rookie.

Made in aid of his forthcoming appearance at Wild Life Festival in Brighton, the idea that this mix is just a taste of what to expect will be a reassuring one to ticketholders for the event. Featuring four-to-the-floor rollers, and some boisterous bass, this mix might not twist your arm into buying a return ticket to Brighton, but will at the very least serve as a reminder that you haven't booked tickets for the summer festival season yet.

11. Liar: Blest Mix

With a tracklist that features Drake, Tessela, Special Request, MssingNo, and a whole load of other people we love, it almost felt rude not to include Liar's 40-track mix.

Perfect for bothering your neighbors or unsettling your parents, we encourage that this mix (and all the others we've mentioned, for that matter) are played at maximum volume with complete disregard for anyone else in your vicinity. Or, you know, just use headphones. But don't play this mix at maximum volume with headphones, because deafness is no joke, and we'll have another of these fantastic lists for you to enjoy in two weeks time! Until then..
