The comeback of Charles Hamilton is fully in gear, and he takes another leap forward today with a love letter to his hometown. “New York Raining” features Rita Ora on the chorus, and it’s some of the strongest recent work we’ve heard from either artist.

The song plays like a funkier, slightly sped-up “Empire State of Mind:” Hamilton provides some soulful piano and introspective rhymes, and Rita continues to claw her way back from “Fancy” by doing her best Queen Bee impression on the big hook.
