It seems like there’s more Drake news every day at this point, but for the most part the news is always good. This time however, it is quite the opposite. Yolandi Visser of South African rap group Die Antwoord called Drake a “massive f*ggot” on her Instagram account.

Both acts are currently touring in Australia as part of Australia’s Future Music Festival. But there’s no word on what caused Visser to make such an offensive post. However, according to a Huffington Post interview the group did back in 2011, they feel that there’s no problem with their use of the slur. Watkin Tudor Jones aka Ninja from Die Antwoord spoke about the sensitive issue in the interview:

I’d like to set the record straight here once and for all. Number one: DJ Hi-Tek is gay. So there you go. Now you all know. Number two: Dj Hi-Tek says the word f—-t doesn’t hold any power over him. Hi-Tek says f—-t all the time cause he’s like, kind of taken that word and made it his bitch. Number three: Just to be fucking clear, the Antwoord is not homophobic… Number four: It comes across to us that some people from America are heavy sensitive about the use of certain words. But the thing is, what you need to understand is, we’re not from America. We’re from South Africa. And South Africa people aren’t so pumped up about these words.

So if you’re expecting to see an apology or explanation for the Instagram post soon, it looks like that may not be too likely. As for Drake, he’s currently on too much of a winning streak to make a statement on negative comments like this one.
