1.

2. Marz Leon - "W H I T E L I O N Z"

Marz Leon's darkness has a warmth to it. The booming bass and husky, sultry voice envelop the listener in robes of sound, carrying you off into a universe of the Los Angeles singer's design. "W H I T E L I O N Z" continues the tradition in fine form. It's the first we've heard from her since the L O N E R EP, and it looks like we'll be hearing and seeing more soon.

4. A$AP Ferg - "Swipe"

Ferg unleashed these verses for New York's DJ SpinKing, the man behind new release "The Connect." It's a trap beat that seems tailor made for the Trap Lord, and Ferg keeps the nickname intact with some "Shabba"-style bars.

6. XYLØ - "America"

The production on XYLØ's debut single "America" is rather dark and melancholy but the addition of Paige Duddy's sweet, breathy vocals lighten up the mood a bit. The result ends up being a single that would be fitting for anything from a solo midnight drive to the trailer of a big movie.

8. IshDARR - "Too Bad"

Milwaukee native IshDARR's new single "Too Bad" is instantly infectious. The bounce in the rhythm is perfectly matched by IshDARR's own energetic flow while the melody and the hook are sure to be stuck in your head in no time.

10. the derevolutions - "I Feel A Goo World"

The breezy, comfortable experimentation of the derevolutions returns with one of their smoothest efforts yet. "I Feel A Goo World" retains their signature playful edge while adding in some wobbling, spooky synths. A triplet heartbeat anchors the song, and as the voices begin to overlap, it all comes together like a dream sequence never quite coming in to sharp focus.

12. NicX ft. Rome Fortune & Jazz Cartier - "MERK (Remix)"

The original cut of MERK is a playground, cutting rhymes slashing across the beat. It's tough has hell, and it got the attention of two of our favorite young rappers: Jazz Cartier and Rome Fortune. Hear their contributions below.

14. Akiine - "Destiny"

Akiine comes swathed in robes of silk and smoke on "Destiny," swirling around a smooth R&B beat with breathy, sensuous harmonies. The followup to her 2014 debut EP Horses on a Beach just started buzzing a little louder.

16. Aminé - "Not At All"

By now, Kaytranada's "At All" record is pretty recognizable. But somehow, Portland native Aminé managed to still shine over a beat that's already charismatic on its own. His animated flow makes it feel as if this beat was meant for him.

18. Travi$ Scott ft. Young Thug - "Skyfall (RL Grime & Salva Remix)"

Rap and dance music have become strange bedfellows since the rise of EDM. The endless possibilities in rap are a perfect match the persistent intensity of a dance beat—provided you're ready to dance. With your whole body. No two-step bullshit, especially not when Young Thug, RL Grime, and Salva are elevating Travi$ Scott's "Skyfall" to new heights. Grime and Salva have special fun remixing Thug's verse, twisting that strangled yelp into an instrument of their own around 2:10.

20. SD

Chicago rapper SD (of Keef’s GBE crew) has been on the come up for a minute now, collaborating with artists like RiFF RaFF and Danny Brown. He released his debut album Truly Blessed last fall, and recently dropped the fourth installment in his Life Of A Savage series, his first mixtape of 2015

Check out “Flexin’ On Em” for an irresistible antidote to “No Flex Zone,” and “Excuses” for an Autotune-heavy look at SD’s softer side—the full mixtape can be downloaded below.

22. Harriet Brown - "20/15"

Harriet Brown has a talent for three things: melodies, harmonies, and jumpsuits. We get a taste of all three on "20/15," the latest single from the L.A. singer. Prince is a heavy influence, and Harriet lists D'Angelo and Bone Thugs as other inspirations.

He does all three proud with a sultry, silly, and seductive rumination on love and valuing one's own self-worth: "I would give anything to have you see yourself with 20/15 vision," Harriet coos on the chorus, funky as he is earnest.

24. Astro Zu & Beau Young Prince - "Paranoid"

Transatlantic collaboration: London's Astro Zu linked up with Beau Young Prince of the DMV for "Paranoid," a breezy synth daydream styled in the wake of xxyyxx and GoldLink. Beau Young Prince raps like a jazz soloist, bouncing around the beat with a boundless energy while the synth waves build beneath him.

26. Anderson .Paak - "Drugs (Y//2//K Remix)"

I didn't want to like this song. It had my heart palpitating five seconds in, which is never a fun surprise. But Y//2//K has a gift for creating acts, refusing to stay planted in one sound. Each one builds after the other, and soon I realized what I didn't like in the first phrase made sense in the second. Y//2//K lets "Drugs" build with a light, finessed touch, finally injecting some metal influences with the final act: a 6/8 breakdown that may lead to headbanging.

28. Boldy James feat. JMSN - "Confessional Cathedral"

Initially, the thought of Boldy James and JMSN on the same track may either throw you off or spark your curiosity. But the truth is, their joint effort "Confessional Cathedral" produced some great results. Boldy James provides the necessary grittiness while JMSN balances it out with his smooth chorus.

30. Aten Rays - "Who U Think"

Aten Ray flip Tinashe's vocals with amazing results on "Who U Think." It's a moody, atmospheric song with intricate production, and goes to places that you'd never expect.
