2. Rome Fortune + ceej ft. ilovemakonnen - "Take Me Away"

Rome Fortune has been churning out material at a prodigious rate. That in itself isn't crazy difficult, but the fact that he's making so much good music is what makes my eyes bug. The free loloU tape he just put out with ceej, for example, is freakin' beautiful. And it's hard for a rap tape to be "beautiful," adjectivally speaking. And yet: smooth production, a variety of styles and flows from Rome, and an iLoveMakonnen kicker to boot. "Take Me Away" is the closing track, as well it should be: the cherry on top.

3. Rose Quartz - "Leaving Now"

It's starting to seem like the more fun, spring-ready songs that come out, the warmer it slowly but surely becomes outside. Rose Quartz's latest single "Leaving Now" seems ironically titled because is the exact opposite of what anyone should be doing if this song comes on at a party.

4. SPZRKT & Sango - "How Do You Love Me"

Earlier this week Sango and SPZRKT (pronounced Spazzy Rocket) dropped their collaborative EP Hours Spent Loving You via Soulection. The joint EP allow Sango's production and SPZRKT's vocals to shine equally. One of the standout tracks is "How Do You Love Me." The song is an even balance of sweet emotions and bouncy beats.

5. DP - "Imperial/Motives"

For whatever reason, some people are convinced that rappers need to make party music in order to gain any major attention. But DP continues to prove that you don't need a catchy hook to make a good song. He's been delivering hard-hitting songs and capturing everyone's attention without the help of any silly gimmicks.

6. Tame Impala - "Let It Happen"

7. BADBADNOTGOOD ft. Wara From The NBHD – "Kaleidoscope (Kaytranada’s Flip Remix)"

BBNG is finding their people. After initially linking up with Odd Future, they created Sour Soul with Ghostface Killah, and now Wara From The NBHD has hopped on an old Kaytranada remix of their song "Kaleidoscope." Instant fire.

8. Sjowgren - "Drifty"

Sjowgren's track "Drifty" is so sweet and intimate that the lyrics sound as if they were read straight from an entry in a diary. The accompanying instrumentation is very simplistic because the real power is in the words and nothing else is needed to make this song anymore special than it already is. Sometimes, less really is more.

9. Goodbye Tomorrow - "100K"

In this generation, we're so used to having endless amounts of information at our fingertips so it seems to throw us all off a bit when artists find a way to hold onto their mysterious persona. But Goodbye Tomorrow reminds us to refocus on what actually matters, the music. The rhymes on "100K" are as hard-hitting as the production. And honestly, I haven't heard anyone incorporate that bed squeak sound into a song so effortlessly since Trillville.

10. Abrigo de pelos - "Sol"

Abrigo de pelos is a Spanish producer from Málaga, and "Sol" is one of two hypnotizing, meandering, tracks he posted this weekend. Download on a name your price basis here and head over to his SoundCloud to hear more.

11. Wiz Khalifa & Ty Dolla $ign - "Post Up"

Last year, both Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign had hit songs that took over the clubs. The two joined forces for yet another catchy song called "Post Up." The track features not only another addictive hook by Ty Dolla $ign but production by him as well.

12. Notorious B.I.G. x FKA Twigs - "Give Up The Money"

There aren't many cases where FKA Twigs and Biggie would normally fall into the same conversation but thanks to this mash-up project by Terry Urban, that might happen more often now. It seems like an odd pairing but somehow this just seems to work out.

Download the whole album of Biggie/FKA twigs mash-ups here.

13. Emily King - "Good Friend"

Emily King has a soulful voice that is light and breezy like a breath of fresh air. The live instrumentation on her latest song "Good Friend," combined with the catchy hook, makes it sound like it was birthed out of a successful jam session.

14. Spank Mack - "Side Street"

Spank Mack's MxA EP is an impressive collection of raps from the New Jersey native, who is also a legend in the Jersey club scene under the name Mike Gip. Listen/download the raw "Side Street" below.

15. Wonda - "Your Baby"

Wonda is here to steal your girl with "Your Baby." The fun, future bounce beat makes the extramarital infidelity seem like a perfectly reasonable way to be. It's a different feel from Wonda's previous efforts (remixing the likes of xxyyxx and Four Tet), but the kid has a golden touch and "Your Baby" works just fine.

16. LA-NO - "Ain't Nobody Like U"

Producer LA-NO took a sweet but somewhat sad love song and brought new life to it. "Ain't Nobody Like U" takes Tamia's "Officially Missing You" and completely flips the energy of the original track. The once somber song is instantly transformed into a party jam.
