After a 2014 that featured a mesmerizing EP (Rosario), reportedly putting in studio time with Baauer, and helping Hudson Mohawke build a “Rap Monument,” LuckyMe has announced that S-Type has a new three-track EP on the way, SV8. It’s said that S-Type is taking things back to basics–the press release mentions a nod to “Grindin'”-era Clipse–and the first track from the EP, the Lunice-featured “Casper,” is a perfect example of that.

In particular stripped-down banger fashion, S-Type and Lunice took less than three minutes and crafted a simple yet effective thumper. There’s no pretension, no sweeping intro or beautiful, long-winded breakdowns; “Casper” appears out of thin air, establishes itself early with a quirky batch of drums, then sprinkles in some wind chimes and nondescript, crunchy accents for some smooth, laidback rider music.

You can stream “Casper” below, and get your iTunes pre-order on for SV8, which also features collaborations with sadboi Yung Gud and UK 8-bar don Inkke.
