Lucki Eck$ has been one of our favorite up-and-comers for a minute. For his first release of what should be an exciting 2015, the 18-year-old Chicagoan delivers visuals for a brand new track called “None Other.”
Backed by trippy, yet soulful production from Bulletproof Dolphin, Lucki opens with a bang in familiar, drug-themed fashion: “Maaan, I’m T’d off juice and Xan, I don’t know you lil’ mans.” From there, it’s slick rhymes and crafty wordplay (including more than one noteworthy NFL reference) the rest of the way, sandwiched by a minimal hook in which Lucki reminds us that “I talk my shit like none other, finesse this shit like none other, make you wanna rob your brother.”
The video, directed by frequent collaborators Jimmy Regular and Jake Osmun, is an appropriately dark accompaniment to the gritty record that captures a day in the life of Bossy and his crew. Watch above, and stay tuned for more.
