George Clanton is gearing up to release his latest album as Mirror Kisses this year, and he’s making it pretty hard not to be excited with the quality of his continuing output. Taken from Moodgadget’s Dynamo compilation, the shimmering “Never Late Again” is further proof of Clanton’s impeccable knack for filtering nostalgia through the age of the internet. Looking towards the future as much as it relies on the past, the colorful and lo-fi track is full of vivid sounding synths that recklessly glisten above the ecstatic percussion.
Like the flashy soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, “Never Late Again” brings to mind fast cars, red skies, and garish visuals.
