Earlier this month, it was reported that Lil Wayne was planning to sue Birdman and Cash Money Records for eight million dollars. Wayne’s dissatisfaction with Cash Money was made clear when he went on Twitter in December of 2014 and said the label was refusing to release his album. “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,” Wayne said.

Wayne is now reportedly taking the steps necessary to end the contract with his label. TMZ says that they’ve obtained the lawsuit, and that Wayne is asking to end his contract with Cash Money Records because they’ve failed to pay him tens of millions of dollars. Because of that, he’s claiming that Birdman violated the deal.

Not only is he asking to be freed from his contract, he’s allegedly suing for $51 million. He’s also reportedly saying that he’s the joint owner of Young Money Records, which hosts Drake and Nicki Minaj.
