Denai Moore has been active for a couple years now, but we started to really wake up to the English songstress when she appeared on SBTRKT’s masterful Wonder Where We Land. She co-wrote and sang on “The Light” (one of the album’s standout tracks) and seemed destined for something bigger. Since then we’ve heard a couple strong EPs, but today brings Moore’s next big move: her debut solo album, Elsewhere.

The announcement is coupled with the title track. “Elsewhere” captures the delectable vulnerability inherent to Moore’s voice, sparse instrumentation leaving plenty of room for lush harmonies and raw emotion. The off-kilter guitars and percussion recall the aforementioned SBTRKT and FKA twigs.

Elsewhere will be released on April 6. The album was produced by Rodaidh McDonald (previous work includes The xx and Sampha) and Ben Drew. Listen to “Elsewhere” below.
