Chicago’s Closed Sessions collective brings artists to their town with a request and a challenge: play a show and create a song, while being filmed. Minnesota rapper Allan Kingdom was up to the task this time around, and the result is “Glass Up (Chi x TC).”
Kingdom raps over an Odd Couple sample of The Hics’ “Lines.” The slower beat gives Kingdom plenty of room to try a variety of rhythms and flows—it sounds like this one was fun to make. The audio is below, followed by the Closed Sessions’ making-of video.
