2. WebsterX ft. Siren - "doomsday"

WebsterX and Siren linked up on "doomsday" for an absolutely gorgeous song with an equally captivating video. The first minute is a slow build without rhymes or lyrics, just warm vibes and dreamy melodies. Once the raps do enter, however, everything comes into sharp focus.

4. Yung Gutted x Wiki - "Facts"

It's hard to choose just one favorite on Ryan Hemsworth's latest Secret Songs compilation. But it's fair to say that "Facts" by Yung Gutted and Wiki of Ratking is a standout track that deserves your attention.

6. Appleby - "Drinkin'"

The atmosphere on "Drinkin'" is dark, almost emotionally apocalyptic, and it's only heightened by the fatalistic lyricism. The step-up in polish from previous tracks is jarring at first, but this is the type of music he's been hinting at since his debut. This and another track, "Scars In Waiting" are both available for free download on Appleby's Soundcloud here.

8. Aphex Twin - "Diskhat ALL Prepared1mixed [snr2mix]"

Aphex Twin is making up for lost time. After a decade of silence between albums, he's been on a tear: first came last year's Syro album, then a whole slew of seemingly random recordings and sound experiments, and now a very large EP. Titled “Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2,” the EP has 13 tracks (five of which are under one minute). But he also posted this alternate mix that didn't make the final cut.

10. Plane Jaymes ft. Yo Gotti - "Water Wet"

Yo Gotti's new mixtape is loaded with energy, but it's the slowed-down, bass-heavy "Water Wet" that's the real standout. Gotti added a verse for his tape, but if you haven't heard the song before, you can get the Plane Jaymes original here.

11.

12. Brodinski ft. SD & Bloody Jay - "Can't Help Myself (Remix)"

As if the original with SD wasn't manic enough, ATL's Bloody Jay hops on Brodinski's crunching beat for a wild and raw remix. Brodinski's album BRAVA, featuring a colorful cast of rappers is scheduled for release March 2.

14. Jay Prince - "Polaroids"

Jay Prince released his BeFor Our Time mixtape this week for free through his website. "Polaroids" is just one of the many complex, lyrical, and fluid concoctions Prince serves up on this mixtape. He's coming in the wake of Kendrick Lamar, but Prince is one of the first disciples I've heard to deserve the comparison.

16. Joey Bada$$ - "Born Day (AquariUS)"

Even though Joey Bada$$ released his debut album B4.DA.$$ this week, he felt generous enough to also gift his fans with a free track since the release date was also his birthday.

18. Prayer - "Pluvia"

Prayer is a percussive madman, building eerie, worlds full of foggy ambient synths around a persistent beat. He's turned up the intensity on "Pluvia," a visceral whirlwind that pairs feather light synths with a full drum set. The classically trained pianist is earning those Burial comparisons with every new track he posts.

20. The Derevolutions - "We All Fall Down Again"

The Derevolutions make sound collages, sample-heavy snippets cobbled together to create off-kilter, always interesting pop music. The Boston outfit takes a folksier approach for their latest track, "We All Fall Down Again." The band says the song "sorta started off as a Beatles inspired track, but ended up sounding like something between The Band and Aphex

Twin haha. Good lyrics for the new year."

22. Drake - "6 GOD (SHASH'U PWRFNK REMIX)"

SHASH'U and his vivid PWRFNK sound is Fools Gold's latest great find, and alongside his Thru Da Night EP (out now), he has some great remixes on his Soundcloud page. The most recent is this club-ready Drake remix which you can download here.

24. RBMA's Various Assets - Not For Sale Compilation

The Various Assets compilation is entirely made up of tracks made at Red Bull Music Academy Tokyo, which went down at the end of last year. We premiered one of the standouts, the collaboration between Ekali, Om'Mas Keith, and Dorian Concept, but the entire compilation is worth digging through. Listen to the tracks below, and download them all here.

26. Yakki Divioshi ft. Young Thug - "Tired"

Since this past summer after releasing DRAKE, Yakki has been one of Atlanta's most featured artists. He dropped his "Load Da Clip" mixtape this week (a prequel to his debut Yakkstikk, and one of the standouts was this collaboration with Young Thug, "Tired." Yakki takes a page out of Thug's rhyme book for this one, and the two trade off rhymes with increasing intensity, their voices rising in pitch and ferocity throughout the song. London on da Track takes home producer credits with some smooth piano and vicious high-hat trills. You can stream "Tired" below or download Yakki's full mixtape via datpiff.

30. J-Louis ft. Zacari - "Heaven Sent"

The SoundCloud description for "Heaven Sent" claims all these vocals were recorded on an iPhone. If it's true, that's a big win for both Apple and the vocal stylings of Zacari Pacaldo. Los Angelino J-Louis lays down a buttery backdrop for Zacari's samples, chopping the lyrics up for a beat that sounds perfect for future bouncers like GoldLink.
