15 Free Songs You Should Download Right Now

Every Sunday we collect the best free music we can find and put it all in one place. If you fell behind or just feel like building up your iTunes, we've got you covered. Here are 15 free songs for you to download, in no particular order. Enjoy.

1.

2. Future - "Just Like Bruddas"

Future keeps it moving with another free mixtape. This time it's the 9-song Beast Mode project with ATL producer Zaytoven, and it's filled with hypnotizing keys and effortless melodies. There's a feature from Juvenile on there and a bunch of strong tracks, but "Just Like Bruddas" is the most addicting, with both Future and Zaytoven doing what they do best.

3. Nick Klein - "Paralyzed"

We hadn't heard of this duo from the Netherlands before, but "Paralyzed" is an excellent introduction. Nick Klein is a duo featuring Nick Klein on vocals and producer Ferdous Dehzad, and together they've got a sound that is as interesting as it is instantly gratifying. They're currently working on an EP, so keep an ear out.

4. Leks Rivers - "When I'm High"

Leks Rivers is a 20-year-old independent artist from London who's been producing all his own music. He sent some songs over, and "When I'm High" instantly became a favorite. It quickly reached its 100 download limit on SoundCloud, but he let us upload it (now without the intro sample) to our account for free download. Grab it while you can, and read more about him here.

5. Grimes - "D r o m e"

Sometimes going back to listen to old material illuminates an artist's current sound. This is one of those times. Grimes recently posted a song from way back in 2010, recorded sometime around the release of her Halfaxa album. This one didn't make the final cut, but listening to it now you can see the seeds of 2012's Visions starting to flower.

6. Daniel Caesar - "Chevalier"

Immediately, the piano on "Chevalier" will stop you in your tracks. But Daniel Caesar's voice adds a sweet quality to this heartfelt ballad that makes you want to keep this song on repeat.

7. Ekali, Dorian Concept, Om'Mas Keith - "On Me"

There are these very rare times when two different songs are playing simultaneously and for a moment they sound like they are fusing into one new song. Basically everything that comes from Red Bull Music Academy is a beautiful result of different worlds colliding and "On Me" is a prime example of that.

8. Jay Wonder - "Greater Than"

This is a Twitter submission from an artist we've never heard before, and it's an impressive one. Jay Wonder comes from Orlando, a city without a nationally recognized hip-hop scene, but Jay's a rapper's rapper—he's got punchlines, rapid-fire flows, a sharp tongue, and bars everywhere. Give this one at least a minute.

9. Hanni El Khatib x Freddie Gibbs - "Satin Black"

“Satin Black” is the first single from the third installment of Converse third CONS compilation, where they pair artists from different genres together to make music. Freddie Gibbs is his usual assured self, sounding as good over Hanni El Khatib's rough guitars and drums as he does over a Madlib beat, while the mournful chorus provides a nice respite from the Gibbs' bars.

10. Shash'U - "Skyline"

Fool's Gold and Shash'U released the latter's Thru Da Night EP for free this week, and for that we are grateful. It's five tracks of electronic skyscraper funk, huge constructions of synths upon synths upon synths upon drums that leave your jaw hanging like a bulldog's jowls. What's more, this is just a taste—Shash'U has a full-length called PWRFNK coming on March 31.

11. All of Lido's Remixes From 2014

Norwegian producer Lido went wild and gave away 17 tracks for free download—all his remixes from the past year—via his website. There's a little catch though, you'll have to play the piano to get the tracks. Confused? Just head to his website here and get cracking.

12. TUT - "Live From Chattanooga"

Isaiah Rashad affiliate TUT's Preacher’s Son album is a project that demands more than a couple cursory listens. It's a personal journey pulling from past greats and announcing a considerable talent in TUT—check out highlights "Live From Chattanooga" and "Holy Water."

Grab the impressive album on a pay what you want basis here.

13. Chris McLenney - "Tuning Up"

Chris McClenney, who we got to know as part of the exciting Flow-Fi Collective, just dropped the first Soulection White Label of 2015, and he put the electronic production to the side for a moment in favor of live instrumentation and a jazzy sound. This is that sit back on the couch and chill music, and we love it.

Download all four tracks from the EP here.

14. Arca - "Sheep"

Eleven free tracks from Arca? Don't mind if we do. To be fair, the eleven are more like ideas, running just under seventeen total minutes. But it's new music from one of the gloomiest and edgiest producers out right now, and Arca has yet to disappoint. He's able to lull his listeners into different dream states—one minute you're in a hurricane of meditative drones, and four beats later you end up in the vampire bloodbath rave. This music is meant to be experienced fully, front to back immersion. Don't be scared...

15. Melé - "Aaliyah"

Most remixes or flips of Aaliyah are pretty similar, at least in the way they use her vocals. UK producer Melé's flip is anything but normal, with steel drums, breakbeats, and vivid synths. The download comes from Annie Mac's Free Music Mondays series, and she says:

It takes an Aaliyah sample to places only Melé can go, infusing it with grime and jungle influences and turning it into a dance floor smash that we LOVE. Enjoy...

16. RJ & Choice - "Playin Tricks"

Pushaz Ink signee RJ and DJ Mustard's artist Choice combine for 15 tracks of snapping, party starting rap that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you like the sound Mustard and YG are pushing, check these two out. Rich Off Mackin features Casey Veggies, IamSu and more.
