Top Dawg Entertainment has had a very busy and successful year and it doesn’t look like they’re already creating the blueprint for a successful 2015 as well. While fans have been enjoying recent releases from Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q and SZA as they patiently wait for Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming album, TDE’s president Punch has also been releasing his own music.
The latest release from Punch is “25” which features Kendrick Lamar on the hook. But even without Kendrick, the track is strong on its own. Beginning with a Tupac quote that seems to feel more relevant now than ever, Punch’s smooth flow compliments both the soulful beat and the subject of the opening quote perfectly. We can only hope that Punch is working on releasing a full project of his own soon.
