Just days after announcing their first release in nearly six years, indie rock legends Modest Mouse have shared a lead single. It’s called “Lampshades on Fire,” and you can listen to it here.
This new single showcases a bit of something old (lead singer Isaac Brock’s signature twang and a small army of determined guitars), and a bit of something new (polished production and doo-wop harmonies on the chorus). Fans of the band’s early work, rest easy: many of the elements that made Modest Mouse great are still intact.
The album, Strangers To Ourselves, will be released March 3. It’s the band’s sixth studio album.
