It’s been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. Apparently Kanye West agrees with that because after James Franco and Seth Rogen made a parody of Kanye’s “Bound 2” video, Kanye contacted Rogen. Kanye was so amused by their parody that he actually asked Rogen and Franco to re-enact it at for Kim Kardashian at their wedding. Thankfully they declined that offer but it resulted in something even better.

When Seth Rogen and Kanye West unexpectedly ran into each other at a hotel in New York, Kanye invited Seth to listen to his new album. This would seem like a normal invitation for many people in the music industry, but Kanye doesn’t do things the ordinary way. He invited Seth to come sit in his limo but only played the instrumentals for each song. Rogen explained the extraordinary experience in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone: “There’s no lyrics, only beats,” Rogen said. “So he raps the whole album, and after each song, he stops it, like, ‘So what do you think?’ We were in the van for two hours!”

There’s been talk for the past few months that Kanye’s album may already be finished, or at least close to it. Now it looks like these rumors might be true.

UPDATE: Seth Rogen shared more details of his unforgettable listening session with Howard Stern. Listen below.
