Well this is unexpected. ILoveMakonnen, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, and Queens rapper Despot have come together for a remix of Makonnen’s somber “Down 4 So Long.” Released as part of Red Bull’s 20 Before 15 series, the remix works well in spite of its strange but brilliant line-up. Ezra and Despot add a surprising amount to the track, with Ezra’s somewhat goofy verse sounding like a a sung version of his Twitter feed, while Despot’s anxiously rapped verse caps it all off with a handful of New York grit.
