AppLOUD Is An Instagram-Like App That Helps Musicians Make Money

AppLOUD is being called an Instagram-like app that allows musicians to make money. According to HypeBot, the site allows musicians to share their work on the platform. Within seconds, a link to tip the artist appears and the act is able to raise money as a result. For now, the app reportedly takes 10 percent of the artist’s cut. HypeBot says this means a $1 tip to an artist could pay more than several hundred streams on Spotify and YouTube. TechCrunch, which also calls AppLOUD an Instagram type of platform, says the app has raised $130,000 in seed funding. Both sites also compare this to street performers who get tips for their work. The app has also garnered positive reviews from The Mac Observer, who referred to it as “killer.”
