When Flash Giordani popped up on my radar late this summer, I was struck by his sense of humor, his gift for melodic rapping, his love of anime, and his equal love of emotional R&B music.
There is a significant chance you will hate “Drinking In The Rain,” the new song from Flash’s R&B group ES-CAR-GO. As I write this post, I have been engaged in an AIM debate about whether or not this song and video are serious. It doesn’t quite matter to me—Flash’s love of late 80s/early 90s R&B manifests itself in a song and video that are both goofy fun, seeming satire that simultaneously revels in its source material.
Don’t think too hard; follow your emotions and let your tears flow with Flash and the gang.
