Watch The Notorious B.I.G.'s Son Rap Live on HOT 97

The Notorious B.I.G.’s son CJ Wallace is following in his father’s iconic footsteps. The 18-year-old actor, who’s worked on Notorious, a 2009 biopic about his father and Everything Must Go, a 2010 film starring Will Ferrell, showcased his skills as an MC on Hot 97 with a couple of verses. “Don’t end up on that hit list,” CJ raps in the clip. “Get dismissed in a matter of minutes.”

CJ, who says he’s been influenced by Slum Village, Curren$y, The Pharcyde, Big K.R.I.T. and Joey Bada$$, among others, is part of Origami Prophets. The Prophets are a rap group that also includes his friend Tedy Andreas, who rhymes alongside him in the clip. While CJ appreciates his father’s music, he says he doesn’t remember being around B.I.G. due to his young age at the time of his father’s death. Biggie died March 9, 1997 after being shot in Los Angeles, California. Since we’re being nostalgic about The Notorious B.I.G., here are some awesome Biggie mash ups.
