Having proved that their music can stand up against—and often, complement—abrasive rap and more aggressive sounds, this past year has been big for Phantogram. Now, the duo brings Brazilian producer Leo Justi and Danny Brown on board for the remix of “Black Out Days,” the original of which appears on their latest album, Voices.
Justi tinkers with the production, reimagining it completely to create something with more bounce for Danny to lay down a quality verse over. Sarah Barthel’s delicate vocals are kept intact to round things out, maintaining the perfect balance.
