The Spotify conversation continues following Taylor Swift’s decision to remove her discography from the streaming service platform. During an interview with Digital Spy, Dave Grohl explained his stance on the matter. “I don’t care if you pay $1 or fucking $20 for it. Just listen to the fucking song,” he says. “But I can understand how other people would object to that.”

When we were young and in really noisy, crappy punk rock bands, there was no career opportunity and we loved doing it and people loved fucking watching it and the delivery was completely face to face personal. That’s what got people really excited about shit. Nowadays there’s so much focus on technology that it doesn’t really matter.

Next year, Grohl’s Foo Fighters are set to go on an arena tour in the UK along with Iggy Pop and Royal Blood. The band released its new album Sonic Highway Monday (November 10). Meanwhile, Spotify has continued a public debate over its service with statements from its CEO, Daniel Ek, and arguments against its platform from Taylor Swift’s camp. Swift has even called Spotify a “grand experiment” that she doesn’t want to be a part of. As you decide which side of the debate you’re on, check out Foo Fighters’ “The Feast and the Famine” below.
