The title of Flying Lotus’ new album is You’re Dead!, and when we spoke to the L.A. based rapper, producer, and creator he talked about death fair bit too. The video for “Never Catch Me,” his brilliant song with Kendrick Lamar, further explores the theme of death, in a beautiful, heartbreaking, emotionally impactful way.
Kendrick Lamar doesn’t appear, and FlyLo himself appears only very briefly, but that really doesn’t matter—this video, directed by Hiro Murai is, quite frankly, a masterpiece. Watch it above, and read the new Fader cover story with Flying Lotus here.
