Premiere: Watch HUGH's Cinematic "One Of These Days" Video

We’ve been singing the praises of HUGH for a while now, most recently premiering their I Can’t Figure You Out EP. Andy Highmore (production/keys), Tino Kolarides (guitars), Joshua Idehen, and Izzy Brooks (both vocals), make up HUGH, and together they create subtle electronic pop that wears its R&B influences proudly.

HUGH’s newest track is “One Of These Days,” a mellow song with a little hip-hop bounce to the beat, and we’re happy to premiere the stunning and wonderfully shot video. Directed by Franklyn Banks, the video at first seems to reflect the themes of romance and romantic uncertainty that are evident in the song’s hook of, “One of these days, we are going to happen.”

Two striking characters (lovers, we might presume) seem to be heading towards an emotional reunion at a secluded countryside house, but things begin to become more sinister as the video unfolds, finally reaching a startling, cannibalistic conclusion, one that gives a certain menacing resonance to the line, “Sooner or later, I’ll have you all to myself.”

Watch the video above, and check out some behind the scenes pictures from the shoot below with actors Sophie Yall and Tom Litten on location in the county of Wiltshire in England.
