The young phenom Daye Jack returns today with another new offering, this time an innovative flip of New York indie pop band MisterWives‘ hit record “Reflections.”
The 18-year-old emcee’s rework of the record is mysterious and brooding, far darker than the original but exhilarating in its strikingly unique nature. Daye seems to be—whether consciously or subconciously—branding himself as an artist that’s impossible to put into a box, sonically speaking, and the daring and effective “Insanity” is further proof that he’s on the right track. His melodic, airy vocals sound right at home over the spooky synth line; it’s clear Daye is growing ever-ready for the limelight.
