One of the most exciting things about new artists is their evolution. When we first heard Jon Waltz back in May of 2013, it was the first version of “Bang.” There was a lot of potential, but at that point it was impossible to tell just how far this kid would go. Over the past year, he’s proved that he’s got a lot more than potential. He’s been more focused, his songs are more polished, and his presentation is strong. He’s a rapper, but he can sing, and he’s got a knack for immediate melodies and catchy hooks. While a lot of rap is going aggressive and left-field, Jon Waltz is crafting accessible music with the possibility to reach fans both inside and outside of the hip-hop realm.
Today, Jon Waltz dropped his Alyss EP, and it comes with a great website that allows listeners to dive deeper into the world he’s created with this one.
