If you’ve been following our weekly 5 On It feature on under-the-radar rap music since June, you might remember the name K9. His track “Show Stacks,” produced by another P&P favorite, Dark0 (read our Daily Discovery feature on him here), was included, and now the West London MC is back with a full mixtape.
Mad In The Cut features the anthemic “Show Stacks” and the absolutely brutal “Shottas Riddim” alongside some more reflective tracks, with “Stress” and “Homie,” which deal with the death of K9’s friend Vager, particularly impressive and emotionally charged.
K9’s delivery is rough-edged and raw throughout the mixtape while the production is brilliant throughout, as Dark0, Visionist, Plata, and Mssingno showing us what the future sounds like.
