This week U2 did a special question and answer session with their fans through Facebook. One fan was bold enough to speak for all of us and ask Bono to “please never release an album on iTunes that automatically downloads to people’s playlists ever again.” Bono finally spoke about his idea and apologized to the unhappy recipients.

Bono started his explanation with a simple, “Oops, I’m sorry about that” and went on to say that maybe he got a little carried away with his idea. “Artists are prone to that thing. A drop of megalomania, a touch of generosity, a dash of self-promotion, and deep fear that these songs that we poured our life into over the last few years might not be heard,” says Bono. “There’s a lot of noise out there. I guess, we got a little noisy ourselves to get through it.”

Well, as unfortunate as this all was. Now that Bono has apologized and promised to never do it again, it’s time for us to move on.

You can watch the short video below and hear Bono personally apologize to you.
