alt-J has turned it on here in the final stretch. We’re less than three weeks away from the release of their next album This Is All Yours, and the English four-piece has paired the magnificent “Every Other Freckle” with not one, but two accompanying videos.
They’re nearly identical, save for the main characters. Above is the “Boy” version of “Every Other Freckle,” below is the “Girl.” They’re also very literal videos, for the visual learners. Alt-J’s Joe Newman sings in a style that can be difficult to decipher, and the video provides image translations for lines like “I’m gonna bed into you like a cat beds into a beanbag.”
This Is All Yours is due out September 22. The band has previously shared “Left Hand Free” and “Hunger of the Pine” off the upcoming album. Olivier Groulx directed the video(s).
