For two years, K. Flay was stuck on a major label that wouldn’t release her album. While trying to free herself from the deal, she hit the road and worked on her live show. When she was finally free, she had to scrap everything she’d done and start over. Once independent, she was more inspired than ever and within a couple of months, she had her debut album. K. Flay’s Life As A Dog is out now. Get it here, and read more about the unique release strategy here.
Here’s the remix to one of the songs off that album, “Make Me Fade,” featuring Sol and Buddy.
“The song is really about dissolution, about disappearance,” K. Flay explains. “That feeling of needing a force outside of yourself—whether it’s something or someone—in order to feel whole. I think Sol and Buddy capture that tension in totally distinct but amazing ways.”
