Sometimes the worlds of UK hip-hop and US hip-hop live separately, but DELS is setting himself up to be an artist you need to know, no matter what side of the ocean you live on. He combines forward-thinking production with a confident delivery, which conveys a sense of urgency that makes him stand out from a lot of rappers who sound like they’re just rapping to rap. His latest single “Fall Apart” feels fresh, but it’s also instantly impacting, not too experimental to be accessible.
DELS’ album Petals Have Fallen is out November 4. His explanation of the album title: “the urge to protect something precious that will ultimately fall apart.”
