Press releases are boring. Usually they’re full of information that’s meant to get you interested in whatever they’re promoting but there are so many superfluous details that by the end, it’s difficult to even remember what you’re reading about to begin with. The press release for Made In Heights is different. Instead of filling in listeners as to what the duo have been up to since they first created online buzz back in late 2013 with their irresistible “Murakami,” it simply states:
“Made In Heights is a duo based in Los Angeles, California. The duo consists of producer Sabzi and vocalist Kelsey Bulkin. They released an album in 2012 and a few songs late 2013. Their new song is called ‘Ghosts.’ Boo.”
Because when you have a track as strong as “Ghosts,” you don’t really need any other information to get your attention. The song does that itself after only a few seconds. Featuring a perfected balance between choppy, synth-heavy production and Bulkin’s ethereal vocals, this one is worthy of repeat listens.
