As with Lolawolf’s previous tracks, “Ayo” defies genre expectations in the best way possible. Turning the summery vibe into something a lot more thuggish, the latest track from the upcoming trio brings to mind the likes of Santigold and M.I.A., whilst still retaining the group’s unique identity. For as brutish as it initially comes on, “Ayo” is just as playful as we’ve come to expect from Lolawolf. The inventive and vibrant track is taken from the upcoming album Calm Down, which will be released October 21.
