Listen to Two of Dev Hynes' Rejected Demos For Britney Spears

None

Back in June of 2013, tweets between Dev Hynes and confirmed Britney Spears collaborators William Orbit and Naughty Boy hinted that Dev was working on the new Britney album too. The album, titled Britney Jean, would go on to be released in November, featuring nothing from Dev, but production and songwriting credits for the likes of Diplo, will.i.am, David Guetta, and Sia.

This morning, Dev replied to someone on Twitter asking why his Britney Spears demos were rejected with the always useful shrug emoji (¯\_(ツ)_/¯), appearing to confirm that the demos below (linked in the tweet) are indeed his, and were indeed intended for Britney Spears.

Thanks to “user43036935” on Soundcloud, we can now listen to two rejected Dev Hynes demos for Britney Spears as well as a demo for the track that would become Sky Ferreira’s “Everything Is Embarrassing.”

“Demo 1” sounds like an off-kilter pop hit, you messed up Britney.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
