If you think of “indie” music as lo-fi and messy, you’ve been sleeping. While that still has its place, the real breakout stars in the indie world have been creating music with all the shine and polish of any mainstream act. One who’s been doing it consistently is Australia’s George Maple. Her newest single is “Talk Talk” from the upcoming EP Vacant Space, coming out via Sydney-based label Future Classic (Flume, Ta-ku). It’s a clean, thumping pop song, and it’s another sign that George Maple’s voice and this type of top notch production are a great pairing.
