Flying Lotus has released the next cut off his upcoming You’re Dead! album. “Coronus, The Terminator” is a confident, smooth creation that draws from J Dilla, The Roots, and Erykah Badu to create an atmosphere all its own. It’s a swirling storm of voices and percussion, layers upon layers of sound weaving together furiously for an altogether too-short 2:40 runtime.

We’ve previously heard Kendrick Lamar’s feature on “Never Catch Me”, and seen an “audiovisual sampler” FlyLo made to accompany You’re Dead! The album will be released October 7, with features from Herbie Hancock and Snoop Dogg in addition to Lamar.

During our interview with Flying Lotus last week, he said “Coronus, The Terminator” was his favorite song “at the moment…I sing that one in my head a bunch. That song is the direction where I’m headed in for the next project, more songs that kind of feel like that world.” Have a listen below.
