15 Free Songs You Should Download Right Now

Every Sunday we collect the best free music we can find and put it all in one place. If you fell behind or just feel like building up your iTunes, we've got you covered. Here are 15 free songs for you to download, in no particular order. Enjoy.

1.

2. Ab-Soul - "W.W.S.D."

Jackson Browne's classic "These Days" is the inspiration behind Ab-Soul’s latest song, "W.W.S.D." (which stands for What Would Soul Do). Browne's country-rock song acts as the surprising backdrop for Ab-Soul to get introspective, but he makes it work. The song released to celebrate his ongoing tour, download it below.

3. Lykke Li - "I Follow Rivers (Lost Sessions Version)"

Fall has arrived, Lykke Li is coming to Radio City in October, and it just feels right to dig back into the archives and pull out some free Lykke Li music. This one's from The Lost Sessions Vol. 1, a raw, stripped back session that shows songs like "I Follow Rivers" in new light.

4. Mr. Lif - "The Fringes"

Boston rapper Mr. Lif shared "The Fringes" for the first time ever in celebration for reaching 30, 000 likes on Facebook. The song would have been track eight on his album I Phantom, but the final album version, called "Success" was much darker and less playful.

Listen to the song below, and grab the track as a name your price download from Bandcamp here, where you can also find a lot more background and contextual information.

5. et aliae - "Baby"

Ryan Hemsworth dropped his very first Secret Songs compilation, a project featuring 10 songs from artists Hemsworth likes, all somehow related to the color pink. Check out et aliae’s "Baby" from the project, and grab the entire thing here.

6. Abra, Father, & Ethereal - “STYX”

Atlanta's Awful Records isn't slowing down. The rise of left-field hip-hop, especially in ATL, is becoming way more than just a local scene, and the Awful collective is positioned to be a leader in the movement. Their weakness is the lack of a filter. With new releases popping up constantly, the quality is up and down, but when they get it right, like with "STYX," they're one of the most interesting new crews in hip-hop.

7. Stwo - "Morphans"

French producer Stwo takes things in a dark and mediative direction on "Morphans," a slow-motion tune that is steeped in atmosphere, perfect to play during that late night post-club haze when you're not yet ready to go to sleep, but you're not trying to turn up anymore.

8. Ka - "Lost Prophet Report"

Adult Swim shares a new song from Ka, an apocalyptic offering titled "Lost Prophet Report" that pairs the rapper's restrained, almost monotone with creeping, futuristic production.

9. Glass Gang - "Lower"

Brooklyn's Glass Gang shares the first song from their forthcoming debut album, a gritty, distorted track titled "Lower." Download the song at glassgang.us.

10. JOSIAHWISESERPENTWITHFEET - "Solipsist (Prod. Sean Paulsen)"

Get familiar with JOSIAHWISE THE SERPENTWITHFEET, one of the most fascinating artists in the game right now. While the often sexual and at times scary imagery that he uses may suggest music that's a little darker, "Solipsist" is a beautiful piano-backed song that focuses on Josiah's soothing voice.

11. Father ft. Makonnen & Key! - "Wrist (Nire Remix)"

Father's bizarrely catchy "Wrist" (wrist, wrist, wrist) was already a pretty strange record, with its semi-whispered hook, but Nire's remix takes things to a whole new level of madness. There are some haunting vocals floating around in the background, plus a much busier, clanking beat, and the result would be perfect for a rave in a cemetery.

12. Ouici - "The Farewell"

Ouici's "The Farewell" may be an instrumental, but it's not one of those long, drawn out, and seemingly pointless ones. There's depth and a lovely playfulness to it that'll have you hooked. Or, you know, inspire you to write a screenplay or something.

13. Wara From the NBHD - "You Must Die"

Wara from the NBHD killed it at our debut "No Ceilings" show in New York last week, and he also shared a menacing and hard-hitting new song titled "You Must Die," a reminder that he always keeps both lyrics and production 100%.

14. Raury - "God's Whisper (Flosstradamus & Aryay Remix)"

Flosstradamus was apparently really blown away with Raury and decided to remix "God's Whisper" the very first time they listened to it. Teaming up with Aryay, their remix sounds a lot like something Flume would do, and it's an interesting version, even if it loses much of the original's organic, loose charm.

15. DOMINIQUE - "It's Only You"

New York City-based singer-songwriter Dominique shares a heartfelt new song titled "It's Only You" that pairs sparkling production with her feather-light vocals.

16. Flume "Greatest View (Zebra Safari & M. Edit)"

Zebra Safari linked up with mysterious collaborator M. a while back for an edit of Flume’s mellow "Greatest View." They add gentle percussion and tweak Isabella Manfredi's vocals for a subtle new version.
