SOPHIE and A.G. Cook Join Forces as QT

None

There are collaborations that make sense, and then there are collaborations that simply need to happen. The pairing of London-based producers SOPHIE and A.G. Cook has been a long time coming, but it looks like we don’t have to wait that much longer to hear the results. Details are scarce as of right now, but the combination of SOPHIE and the PC Music head A.G. Cook as QT is an exciting prospect. The PC Music camp has been producing some of the most uniquely exciting pop music around at the moment, taking the bubblegum pop blueprint and pushing it to its infantile extremes

The unfortunately short but super kawaii preview of SOPHIE and A.G. Cook’s first track together, “Hey QT,” is perhaps the bounciest sounding PC Music-related project yet. It’s the type of collaboration really weird sugar-fueled dreams are made of.

It’s not entirely clear where this QT project will end up, or if they’ll release anything more substantial than a one-off track, but Diplo and XL Recordings are involved. Check out the cool QT website here, and look out for the duo’s first live performance at Boiler Room LA alongside Hudson Mohawke, Lunice, and Oneohtrix Point Never this friday.
