Listen to Flume's Ten-Minute Remix of Arcade Fire's "Afterlife"

None

By now most of us have gotten the chance to sample the tasty offerings of a Flume remix. There was “You & Me,” “Tennis Court,” “Gold,” and most recently “Test & Recognise,” but none of those may be as good as the latest from 22-year-old Harley Streten.

Flume rides roughshod over any expectations you might have, turning in an ambitious remix of Arcade Fire‘s “Afterlife.” It’s ten minutes of pumping musical intrigue, as the moans of Win Butler reverberate over the extra-terrestrial production. It’s not a typical dance number by any means, but the track has an emotional edge and epic feel that extends beyond simple drops or epic melodies. It’s raw, organic, and very impressive.
