This week was pretty hectic for an android like myself. Not only did I have to hold down the fort at DAD (because, well, rent needs to be paid), but there was an entire week dedicated to Skrillex over at Complex. Sleep on it if you want, but you’re really missing out if you haven’t peeped the “Alien Nation” cover story. It’s an in-depth interview, but the visuals are really the key. That’s not to say that the week’s been ALL SKRILLEX ALL THE TIME, and to prove that, here are this week’s fire EDM selections.
Flosstradamus ft. Elkka – “Rebound”
Flosstradamus’ latest is way more turned down than turned up, which is a welcome shift from their batch of righteous party anthems.
SOPHIE – “Hard”
A chaotic tune, blending catchy chants, weird asides, and some twisted melodies into one manic masterpiece.
Kito & Reija Lee ft. Zebra Katz – “WORD$ (DJ Sliink Remix)”
DJ Sliink always wins.
DJ Earl – INTERLUDE 017
31 minute footworkout from TEKLIFE’s upcoming gem.
Petey Clicks – “BAE”
This could be the happiest track I’ve heard all week.
Duke Dumont – “Won’t Look Back (Shadow Child Remix)”
An already massive hit gets an impressive UK garage send-up from Shadow Child.
Dieselboy – The Destroyer
With a dope, ’70s grindhouse theme set around this mix, Dieselboy returns with a huge drum & bass selection.
Jesse Slayter & Wuki – “That’s Right”
Jeffree’s put out a fresh compilation from two American producers on the come up.
Juzlo – “Hulk Hoganz”
A track as heavy as the venom Ultimate Warrior would spit during his promos, this grime monster isn’t for the feint of heart.
Sleepy Tom – Pillowcast #3
This could be the rowdiest end credits roll, odd given that you’d think a “pillowcast” would be sleepy time music. Not so. Take a shirt off and turn up.
